We are situated on the North Kent coast, an area very popular for sailing.
The club faces North and is only 10 miles form the M2 and 11 miles from the historic city of Canterbury.

Access from the North is quick and easy, and those living in the Bexley, Gravesend, London and Dartford areas find the M2 & M20 provide convenient, quick access

We are lucky in that the Club is situated at the bottom of a grass slope, above which there is free parking provided. Other than some holiday weekends, there is normally a spot to find.

Tankerton is a quiet pleasant town. There are good shops in the area ranging from two large superstores (Sainsbury & Tesco) approximately 2 miles from the club, to a number of small shops within a few minutes walk. There is a well equiped chandlers in Whitstable that is open on Sunday mornings during the sailing season.

The sea front is particularly attractive and uncommercial - on one side are private houses and on the other, a grass slope leads down to the promenade. The promenade begins in Whitstable, heads onto Tankerton and then Swaleclifee, and connects to a footpath leading all the way to Herne Bay to the east.

Hotels, Pubs & Caravan Sites

There are 5 good local pubs, and a host more on roads leading to Canterbury. The marine Hotel and the Marine Lodge Guest House, both within walking distance, are ideal for anyone staying the night.

There is a good caravan site in Tankerton (Blue Waters) which is to the east of the club about 20 minutes walking. A small caravan club exists at Chestfield 3 miles away.
