Tankerton Bay Sailing Club - Kent

Last Sailing Day of the season

What a great day!

The 3rd November was the last sailing day of the year. We had a wonderful turnout with over 20 boats and probably around 35 people on the water....
In the Cat fleet, Tim and Ashten Blades came in 2nd on their Dart 18 and claimed their first long distance cats series. In the Mono fleet, Ted North also finished 2nd on the day which secured the mono long distance series. We are informed that this is his first series win in over 50 years of sailing! Well done Ted.
Then over another 25 people or so helped put boats away, tidy the club up, eat hot dogs, drink beer, and enjoy a great social to end another glorious day at tbsc.

Thank you everyone for making this a great sailing finale to another fantastic year at the best sailing club on the North Kent Coast.

Watch out for out of season social events (Wine and Wisdom, Laying Up Supper and more) as you re-tune your boats and swot up on the sailing rules as you start your preparation for the exciting 2019 season where we will further build on the successes of the past few years.

If you wish to help with out of season improvement works or have ideas for next year (all skills welcome from skilled craftsman, through general labour to online wizard and social ideas) - please contact one of the committee members. All volunteers welcome.

Thank you again and enjoy (as much as you can) the winter break without any sailing.
